If you have watched the Lord of the Rings (basically the only one people like to talk about), then you would know the different races that exist in Middle Earth. Well, if you do not know where Middle Earth is, it is the place (in short) where you can find almost all the humans in the mythology world. Besides the human race, there are of course other races that live among humans too. Not all live with humans, there are quite a number who stay within the same Middle Earth region.
So if you are familiar with Lord of the Rings, you would know quite a few of the well-known races as in the following:
Dwarves
The little people or the slightly ‘smaller than humans’ beings that dwells mainly in caves or underground places which are usually out of sight to others. They are pretty much miners who like shiny objects especially gold and would spent their lifetime digging & mining for precious metals and minerals. And of course, because of their manual work nature, they like to binge on food and probably much on ale(beer). After a day of work, it is nonetheless to sleep on a high quality spring-pocket mattress with double soft foam top and a pure down-filled fluffiest pillow. Do not think that dwarves only indulge in nice stuff and therefore softies. They are absolutely the ones that you would want on your team for a fierce battle because of their relentless energy. Did we mention they make very good craftsmen as well?
Elves
Most people like the elves more than the other races. They are often seen as beings of elegance, smart, have mysterious powers, usually look pretty with nice complexion and look like some important figures of high status in the Middle Earth. Elves are mostly adored by most humans except (of course) the dwarves, probably because they seem to be on the opposite end in comparison (in fact, nobody realised that the dwarves are the richest!) The forest or the ancient woods is usually the dwelling places of elves where it is hidden from the human eye because it is mostly enchanted by some magical spells. Their homes are constructed from the nature and mostly antiques of certain quality that exude a fine taste of class. Similar to their elegant movement, they are extremely swift and refined in their battle skills displaying a class of their own.
Hobbits
Little people who lives in the woods with somewhat similar house-builts like the smurfs. Unlike the dwarves, hobbits are very social beings and are one of the warmest race around if you were to live with them. They prefer routines in their lives that involve the neighbourhood, keeping themselves occupied with chores and high teas before they call it a day. Not really concerned about the happenings outside of their world, they are certainly one of the happy-go-lucky ones who can live peacefully in the chaotic Middle Earth. Hobbits are also less worried about possessions and wealth because they are well-settled and satisfied the way they are living. Probably because of their cheerful nature, they carry themselves lightly (no burdens) and can go undetected even right under your nose!
Men
A race that we are commonly familiarly with, it is one that regards themselves of the highest class that rules over all the Middle Earth. Fame and power are always in line with the common thoughts of men and to possess control is a wield of strength & status. Although their arrogant attitude is loathe by some, men display a high affection for learning new things and to apply them to a higher standard. It is also this quality ambition that made them successful and the charisma to lead people. And most of the times, their never-say-die and can-do attitude would influence the other races to rise up on difficult occassions.
Wizards
They look like humans (in fact most of them are) but definitely few and almost the rarest of the lot. Wizards possess mystical powers from many years of practice and self-actualisation. That explains why they usually operate alone and roam around the region secretly. They are constantly upgrading themselves, seeking truths and deciphering complexities. Although Wizards are solitude, they are pretty well-connected with their neighbourhood and constantly keep in contact with fellow wizards for fellowship and exchanging ideas. Also, most people like to sought after them because they exude wisdom and are seen as figures that can be trusted. However, because of their powers and abilities, it can be become fearsome if they decide to switch to the dark side.
Now that we have understood some of the races that commonly appear in Middle Earth (of course there are many more others), perhaps you can relate yourself to one of the race mentioned based on the characterization. Are you an Elf who is extremely fast in getting things accomplished and yet display class of elegance or a happy-go-lucky Hobbit who appreciates the simplest things in life and enjoys the company of others? Be it any of them, let us strive to become a better person embracing all people regardless of race.
